In the long dark winter season—when Prose’s tilt points away from the main sun and distant Zaron contributes little warmth—temperatures can drop to around –20°C.

Growing up in these shifting conditions, Emilya became accustomed to rapid environmental change, sudden storms, and long periods of both harsh light and deep darkness.
